Odvard Egil Dyrli, Emeritus Professor of Education at the University
of Connecticut, is senior editor of District Administration magazine

Awards program. He is a former columnist,
editor and feature writer for Technology & Learning magazine; director
of the Technology & Learning Professional Development Institute;
columnist and editor for Learning magazine; and co-author of three
teacher-education texts for Prentice-Hall Inc. Dr. Dyrli coordinated
a university-sponsored teacher professional development center cited
in Newsweek, served as science/technology facilitator for a consortium
of four Connecticut school systems, directed a federally-funded curriculum
implementation project with nineteen school districts, and is author
of three staff development courses distributed internationally. "Gil" has
presented technology conference keynotes and teacher education workshops
throughout the United States, Canada, and Europe; directed the Learning
Computer Software Awards program (now Technology & Learning Awards
of Excellence); and collaborated on three network children's television
programs, including the Emmy-award-winning Schoolhouse Rock on ABC-TV.
